Online VLF data access by The Stanford University VLF Group. The VLF Group investigates the Earth's electrical environment, its upper atmosphere, lightning discharges, radiation belts, and the ionized regions of the earth's upper atmosphere known as the ionosphere and magnetosphere. Much of work involves the use of very low frequency (VLF) electromagnetic waves which are generated by lightning discharges, by man-made transmitters and by the energetic radiation belt electrons. We use VLF waves as diagnostic tools to investigate physical processes in the vicinity of the Earth's low and high altitude plasma environment. UF Systems Simulation class final project to develop a Java applet video game with unique interactivity. The main character, Torbjörn, is driven by FSM AI (Finite State Machine Artificial Intelligence). The user can interact with Torbjörn's FSM via webcam. The webcam is trained to track the color blue in preset motions respective to Torborn's weapon hand and free hand. Torbjörn, pronounced [thor'byoorn], is a Viking character in a medieval environment. He can interact with many Scandinavian characters, animals and foods including: sloe (berries), spelt (grain), favas (beans), saithes (fish), sheep, cattle, grouses, lynx, bears, wolves, whales, another Viking berzerker character, and a town. The player’s role is to build Torbjörn's experience by controlling his emotions (via webcam controlled FSM), and thus indirectly his actions at the proper times to ensure his development and survival.
